Champagne Afternoon Tea at Blenheim

Champagne and Cake in the Orangery

By In Photographs, Reviews
A little gallery of photographs taken during a Champagne Afternoon Tea at Blenheim Palace, in the Orangery. A lovely outing with Robbin of Vineyard Adventures and Diane of WineDineGo. Both being Americans they seemed suitably impressed with the grandeur of the Palace and of the ‘typical’ English tea. While I thoroughly enjoyed the whole visit to Blenheim Palace – including getting caught in a ferocious hail storm (this was June!) – I couldn’t help but feel the tea was a little slapdash.

We had booked a Champagne Afternoon tea that comes with three small glass of Champagne. It wasn’t explained which of the champagnes were which, one was decidedly warm and the food, while delicious seemed poorly served. Note the presentation of the chocolate éclairs for example. Was expecting something a little more refined for the £40 each. In unison we all proclaimed that just one more glass of bubbles was needed (the servings were scant) but before we ordered a complementary Champagne Cocktail was served – because it was my birthday. Which finished off the meal beautifully.
